A two days conference on “Preserving Biodiversity and Livelihood through Tradi Agroforestry in North East India” was held at Don Bosco Institute and Bosco Reach Out head oﬃce on September 25 and 26, 2018 respecely. The conference was pioneered by GIZ Germany on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Germany, in collaboration with its programme implement partner Bosco Reach Out, Guwahati.
The ﬁrst day’s programme on September 25, 2018 was inaugurated by the chief guest Sri. Atul Borah, Hon’ble Minister, Agriculture, Hore and Food Processing, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Town and Country Planning, Government of Assam. It was followed by speeches of Sri. A. M. Singh, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest; Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhury, Vice Chancellor – Assam Downtown University, Dr. Peter Gross,Project Director India; Fr. Januarius Sangma, Chancellor – Assam Don Bosco University; Dr. Jöerg Lohmann, Project Manager GIZ, FOR Internal Climate In Ie, Government of Germany.
The second day’s programme was on September 26, 2018 at Bosco Reach Out conference hall with 3 sessions and panel discussion on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Service, Landscape Management, Value System and Tradi-Agroforestry in N.E.India, etc. A group of eminent persons personally took part in the conference where Dr. Jöerg Lohmann, Project Manager GIZ, FOR IKI-Project, Dr. Peter Gross, Project Director India, Dr. Dipak K.
