On May 25, 2019 Bosco Reach Out conducted promotion and mobilisation programme at Malivita, Sidli block, Chirang district of Assam for the selection of new second phase beneficiaries of TDF – BAGAN project. The first phase had been already successfully grounded in 2018 at 22 villages of Malivita VCDC.The overall Objective of the programme was to create awareness regarding integrated tribal development projects on multiple crop orchards/ Wadi development, to mobilise farmers for their greater participation in the project, and to promote the concept of the project.

The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Gautam Talukdar, ACS, Deputy Commissioner, Chirang district, the Chief Guest of the programme. Fr. A. Jayaprakash, Executive Director of Bosco Reach Out Guwahati and Ms. Leena Mohurle, AGM, NABARD, Assam Regional Office, Guwahati were present in the programme. There were more than 80 farmer’s families of Malivita VCDC of Sidli block at the programme. Other dignitaries and invitees present at the programme were Mr. Johnny Narzary, Chairman of VCDC Malivita, Mr. Premal Narzary, Govt. school teacher, Malivita, Mr. Jonota Narzary, President Malivita Primary BPF, Mr. Koken Narzary, Gaonbura, and Smt. Minku Das the Programme Coordinator of Bosco Reach Out Guwahati.

Fr. A. Jayaprakash, Executive Director of BRO delivered his welcome speech followed by a keynote address by Smt. Minku Das, Programme Coordinator of BRO. Ms. Leena Mohurle, AGM, NABARD, Assam addressed the farmers and explained the ambition of NABARD towards development of the tribal population of the country. Mr. Gautam Talukdar, ACS, Deputy Commissioner, Chirang district addressed the participants and explained the role of district administration in development of the villages in terms of health, education, infrastructure, law and order. At the end of programme, 100 Water Wheels were distributed to women beneficiaries under women drudgery reduction head of women development component in the first phase. A symbolic planting material was conducted among second phase beneficiaries to encourage mobilised the participants to join the programme with greater enthusiasm.
