Sericulture Based Non-Wadi Project in Barbaruah Block of Dibrugarh District, Assam.
Bosco Reach Out, a social development office of Guwahati province of India, had organised an Inaugural Function for a New Tribal Development Fund Project on Sericulture based on Non-Wadi Project in Natun Bolai Gaon Village, under Barbaruah Block of Dibrugarh District, Assam on 7th May, 2022.
This Project is supported by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Regional Office, Guwahati. During the inaugural function the Chief Guest Mr. Biswajeet Pegu, The Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh, encouraged the Beneficiaries and told that he was very happy to inaugurate such a wonderful and viable project in his area and also he assured to help the Beneficiaries in any point of time whatever way possible only if the beneficiaries make the project a success.
Among the guest of Honors one of them were Mr. Tankeswar Sonowal, Deputy Chief of Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council, Dibrugarh, who motivated the beneficiaries with his powerful speech and asked the beneficiaries to grab the opportunity and capture the market through this project. He also assured us to help the beneficiaries in building the rearing houses. Other guest of honors and Dignitaries who were present in that inaugural function were Mr. Jiban Ch. Shaikia, Assistant Director of Sericulture, Dibrugarh, Ramkrishna Sarmah, Assitant Director of Handloom and Textile, Pranjal Gogoi, Deputy Director of Handloom Officer of Handloom and Textile, Amitav Bhattarcharjee, Director of RSETI and Dhrubajyoti Phukan, Sericulture Demonstrator of Sericulture Department.
The objective of this project is to take the traditional Eri-worm rearers from the small family level into a commercial Eri Silk producers who will be able to market their product in the commercial level.
