Bosco Reach Out-Development Through Empowerment

Opportunities for Youth Advancement and Employment

About

The project Don Bosco Job Placement Network – Opportunities for Youth Advancement and Employment, supported by Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN), New Delhi, has been implemented since April 2021. This national-level initiative aims to empower underserved youth across India by enhancing their employability and livelihood opportunities. The project provides a comprehensive support system that includes career guidance, skill development, and job referral services, with a strong focus on job retention. It ensures that youth are placed in decent, safe, and secure employment with fair wages, thereby promoting their social and economic integration.

In a significant initiative to enhance counselling skills, a training session titled “How to Become a Career Guide” brought together educators, counsellors, vocational trainers, and social workers from various institutions, aiming to better prepare students for the complexities of today’s job market. A staff capacitation event strengthened the service delivery of project personnel by equipping them with the tools to offer impactful career guidance. Career guidance programmes for students of Classes IX to XII in various schools fostered early awareness of career planning. Skill training and capacity-building programmes also created awareness about the JPN portal among jobseekers. Regular company visits and interactions by the Project Coordinator have facilitated valuable job placement opportunities for aspiring candidates.
