Agriculture Training Centre, Joropara

The Agriculture Training Centre in Joropara, North Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, serves as a zonal office and training hub for Bosco Reach Out. Spanning approximately 300 acres of fertile land, the centre is uniquely positioned across hillocks to provide integrated vocational, agricultural, and allied training. It houses livelihood units such as piggery, poultry, dairy, and apiculture, offering demonstration services and employment opportunities to local farmers. Model farms for homestead agriculture, horticulture, herbal gardens, vermicomposting, and rubber plantations enrich the hands-on experience. The centre is equipped with classrooms (130-seat capacity), computer labs, ISMO machines, hostels for both genders, staff room, backup generator, and a playground. A dedicated green skills section runs under a project focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving marginalized communities living standards. This section features its own training and administrative buildings, workshops, cafeteria, and hostels (separate for boys and girls), making the centre a comprehensive hub for sustainable rural development and vocational empowerment.
