Bosco Reach Out-Development Through Empowerment

Children Sponsorship Programme

About

Children Sponsorship Programme since 1999 with the support of Fondazione Fratelli Dimenticati Onlus, Italy, has been supporting the education and holistic development of vulnerable children across Assam and Meghalaya. More than 4,500 underprivileged children have been empowered to pursue quality education, discover their talents, and build better lives. The programme supports education at the primary, secondary, and technical levels, while also raising awareness among parents and communities about the long-term value of education.

As of March 2025, a total of 489 children are benefitting from across 20 centres, 9 in Assam and 11 in Meghalaya. Regular visits by the Programme Coordinator to these centres have enabled close engagement with stakeholders, including sponsored children, teachers, and centre-in-charges. These visits offered valuable insights into the programme’s impact, identified existing challenges, and helped gather feedback for continuous improvement to better serve the children and their communities.

A key highlight of the programme was the academic success of sponsored children, with 65 Class X and 11 Class XII students passing their board examinations in May–June 2024. This achievement brought immense joy and pride to teachers, parents, and centre coordinators alike. All expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Bosco Reach Out and Fondazione Fratelli Dimenticati Onlus, Italy, for their unwavering support in shaping a brighter future for these children.
