FLOOD RELIEF:
Bosco Reach Out (BRO) stepped in to support the affected families who faced severe losses, including damaged crops, livestock, and essential household items during the floods that struck Assam in July 2023. The flood caused immense hardship, leaving many families struggling to recover. Recognizing the urgent need for aid, BRO mobilized resources to provide emergency relief to the most severely impacted districts.
BRO distributed flood relief kits to vulnerable and marginalized households across seven hardest-hit districts in August 2023. These kits of immediate needs include 10 kilograms of rice, 1 kilogram of sugar, 1 kilogram of salt, 1 kilogram of soybeans, 2 kilograms of masur dal, and essential spices such as turmeric powder, chilli powder, and garam masala. The support from Nestle, through its collaboration with Don Bosco Network (BoscoNet) South Asia, was instrumental in facilitating this relief effort.
BRO extend sincere gratitude to the local volunteers who helped to identify flood-affected households and ensure the efficient distribution of these essential supplies. Their dedication and hard work were vital in bringing relief and hope to those in need during this challenging time.
